We'd love to see Kiara Advani's reaction to the pictures shared by Sidharth. See the photos shared by Sidharth Malhotra here: Screenshot of Sidharth Malhotra's Instagram story. A rare natural phenomenon brought the city that never stops to a standstill on Tuesday evening as thousands tried to capture the perfect 'Manhattanhenge' picture. The biannual spectacle takes place in New York wherein the Sun aligns precisely with the Manhattan street grid. Manhattanhenge occurs twice in May and twice in July, and for these two days, as the Sun sets on the grid, half the disk sits above and half below the horizon, according to the American Museum of Natural History. The "henge" phenomena is not restricted to New York and similar occurrences have been reported in other cities with large amounts of skyscrapers and long straight streets - such as Chicago, Montreal and Toronto. 'Dhoni And Reserve Day' Bring Back Harrowing Memories Of 2019 WC Semis

The final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 headed into the Reserve Day after play could not be possible on Sunday due to persistent rain at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Fans turned up in numbers hoping to see MS Dhoni lift the IPL trophy for the 5th time in his career with the Chennai Super Kings but had to return home disappointed. Though Dhoni's men are scheduled to take on Gujarat Titans on Monday, the prospect of Dhoni playing on a 'Reserve Day' brought back some horrible memories. It was the semi-final of the 2019 ICC ODI World Cup between India and New Zealand when the match had to be shifted to the 'Reserve Day' because of rain on the scheduled day. New Zealand pacers, particularly Matt Henry , ran riot in overcast conditions to put India on the backfoot early on. The match also saw Dhoni, the last hope of the Indian team, being run-out by Martin Guptill , helping the Kiwis secure an 18-run win. The match turned out to be Dhoni's last...

Mumbai's Bandra-Versova Sea Link To Be Named After Savarkar: Eknath Shinde

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Sunday said the upcoming Bandra-Versova sea link in the western part of Mumbai will be named after Hindutva ideologue late VD Savarkar, while a state-level gallantry award on the lines of the one given by the Centre will also be named after him. Speaking in New Delhi on the birth anniversary of Savarkar, the Chief Minister said some people were deliberately maligning the former for their selfish gains and out of fright that they will have to shut shop if his thoughts become popular in society. It was the first time Savarkar's birth anniversary was being celebrated in the state government-constructed Maharashtra Sadan there, he added. "The critics of Savarkar know if his thoughts become popular in society, they will have to shut shop. Imagine how terrified they are that they oppose Savarkar even after 57 years of his death," he said. "There have been deliberate and consistent attempts to malign the image of Savarkar by s...

US Cash Pile At Record Low, Biden And Republicans Agree On Debt Ceiling

US President Joe Biden and Republican lawmakers struck a deal in principle to raise the country's debt ceiling Saturday, in a crucial first step towards eliminating the threat of a disastrous default with just days to spare. The government is expecting to hit its borrowing limit on June 5, raising the possibility of the world's largest economy failing to honor its repayment obligations for the first time and igniting a firestorm in global markets. Party leaders now face a race against time to muscle the agreement through Congress, with hard-right Republicans and Democratic progressives both crying foul over concessions made to seal the deal. The culmination of weeks of tense, high-stakes negotiations in Congress and the White House, the accord would permit the government to add to its $31 trillion-plus debt, avoiding a downgraded credit rating, likely recession and potentially millions of job losses. And it goes some way towards appeasing fiscal hawks in the House of Repres...

Henry Kissinger, US' Controversial Ex Secretary Of State, Turns 100

Henry Kissinger, whose very name is synonymous with US diplomacy, turns 100 Saturday feted by the American elite as others seethe that the ruthless Cold Warrior has never faced accountability. From opening the door to communist China to plotting an endgame to the Vietnam War to unapologetically backing dictators who were anti-Soviet, Kissinger wielded influence like few before or after him, serving as both top diplomat and security advisor to presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford. Instantly recognizable for his bookishly thick glasses and a sharp-witted monotone that never lost a touch of his native German, Kissinger was first an academic and his intellectual gifts are acknowledged begrudgingly even by some of his harshest critics. Since leaving office in 1977, Kissinger's brand of realpolitik -- the coldly cynical championing of power and national interests -- has largely fallen out of favor as his successors preached moralism, but Kissinger himself has if anything enjoyed g...
